Mission

Description

0PN Labs operates an open participation model aligned with standard international security for privacy Treaty, called Convention 108+, in particular the use of Article 11, Code Conduct.

The 0PN Code of Practice : Glass Box Model

  1. Glass-boxed - standard digital transparency and policy rules that apply to all stakeholders equally is what is referred to as glass box governance, (note: exemplified in the financial services industry.)
  2. DTbD - Operational digital standard transparency by default (DTbD)
  3. DPTI Digital Public Transparency Infrastructure (DPTI) - Glassbox governance model and architecting.

Contribution Registry:

  • All contributions / milestones tracked in Contribution Registry in monthly calls
  • Credit for specifications, code, documentation, research
  • Recognition based on adoption and impact
  • Pathway to DPTI Sandbox, Public Pilot Projects, or co-authorship on standards submissions

Intellectual Property:

  • RF-RAND (Royalty-Free Reasonable and Non-Discriminatory) licensing terms
  • Contributors sign IPR Agreement
  • Reference implementations under open-source licenses (Apache 2.0, MIT)
  • Standards-essential patents covered by RF-RAND commitments

Governance Participation:

  • Individual General+ members eligible for Co-Chair nominations
  • Working Group charters approved by membership vote
  • Steering group representation from active contributors
  • Transparent decision-making processes
